Cross stitch Flower is inspired by the traditional folk Ukranian embroidery technique.
I came from a long line of cross-stitchers. I was taught how to stitch by my granny and she’d been from her mom. I made this quilt collection in memory of my great-grandmother.
By this collection I want to show the beauty and how modern could be folk’s symbols. Traditional embroidery Ukranian colors are black, white and red. I made my newest designs in the “Modern” version with my favourite solid colors.
During the lecture I will talk about the meaning of symbols and colors of each design. I demonstrate new 17 quilt designs from the new collection “Girdle Tie Quilts” 2022.
After lecture students will get the access to download a quilt tutorial with one of the designs.
