I’m so happy to share a special moment from my sewing journey — Doggy on Duty has been featured in A Needle Pulling Thread magazine.

There is always something especially meaningful about seeing a project move from an idea, to fabric, to finished piece, and then all the way onto a printed page. This little dog door stopper was such a fun design to create, and having it included in a magazine issue inspired by geometrics made it feel even more at home.

Doggy on Duty is a playful and practical project built from simple geometric shapes that come together to form a sweet dog face full of personality. I love projects that are useful in everyday life but still bring a little charm and warmth into a room, and this one does exactly that. A door stopper may be practical, but that doesn’t mean it has to be plain.

What I especially enjoy about this design is the balance between clean geometric construction and a soft, whimsical character. The shape is simple, the sewing is approachable, and the finished piece has just enough personality to make people smile. It’s the kind of project that can sit quietly in a room doing its job while still feeling decorative and handmade.

Here is one more picture of the finished project outside the magazine pages, because I wanted to show how nicely it works as a real object in a home. It is sturdy, practical, and still playful — exactly the kind of sewing project I love most.

Thank you for sharing these creative moments with me and for always supporting my work. It means so much to be able to celebrate these milestones with you.

Behave yourself quilty!
With love,
Olesya
