Hello, dear friends and makers of magic!

This issue of A Needle Pulling Thread is all about Textures, and I’m excited to share my latest creation—a delightful chenille-inspired cushion cover. Chenille, which first charmed the quilting world in the late 1990s, has a timeless appeal, blending casual elegance with cozy warmth.

The beauty of chenille lies in its creative use of different fabrics, stitched together in unique patterns and colors. To enhance its charm, quilters often embrace the “ragging” technique, leaving seams exposed and frayed for that soft, worn effect. Whether called a “rag quilt” or a “slash quilt,” this method transforms fabric into a warm, inviting masterpiece.

In this project, I explore the magic of chenille quilting to create a cushion cover that’s both stylish and functional. It’s the perfect way to add a touch of charm and texture to your home while celebrating the artistry of this classic technique.

Find the step-by-step picture tutorial and detailed instructions on page #44 of the newest Issue 64 of A Needle Pulling Thread.

Thank you so much, Carla! It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with you and your wonderful team.
